MOUNT VERNON, OHIO - Following a recent vote of the membership and with the approval from federal and state entities, the Coshocton Federal Credit Union merged into CES Credit Union as of July 1, 2021. The downtown Coshocton Federal location will change to CES Credit Union and will remain open with extended hours. Plans are under way to relocate to a new Coshocton office later this year.

Sandy Coffing, President and CEO and Jeff Wells, President of the Board of CES Credit Union made the announcement. The results of the merger vote were official on June 21, 2021. Coshocton Federal Credit Union has operated since 1974 and has assets of $1.53 million (as of March 2021) and is located at 406 ½ Main Street, Room 5 in Coshocton. This location inside the Masonic Temple building will continue to serve the Coshocton County community through the transition until the new Coshocton location is ready later this year.

CES Credit Union (CES), based in Mount Vernon, has assets of $195 million and has operated since 1952. CES has five present locations (two in Mount Vernon, and one each in Delaware, Loudonville and Utica) serving seven counties in the mid-Ohio region. Those who live, work, worship or attend school in the counties of Ashland, Delaware, Holmes, Knox, Licking, Morrow and Richland have access to the credit union benefits. This merger now adds Coshocton County to the market area.

The eventual move to a new location at 700 South Second Street in Coshocton will include a 24/7 ATM and will have open lobby hours every six days per week. The credit union will employ four to five employees and looks to hire locally. Interested applicants may apply through the cescu.com website.

“We are very excited to bring more credit union financial services to the Coshocton area and to build on the legacy of Coshocton Federal Credit Union” said Coffing.  “CES Credit Union thrives in hard-working communities where people appreciate hometown service and attention.”

CES Credit Union will also have regional and state-wide Shared Branch access and the Alliance One ATM network available with the new location, allowing customers to use credit union centers and ATMs in cities like Newcomerstown, Cambridge, Newark, Mount Vernon and Zanesville.

CES Credit Union is federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a federal government agency for up to $250,000 of federal share insurance to account holders.

A grand opening will be held at the new location later this year. For more information on CES Credit Union, visit the website at cescu.com.
