Each year, our CES Credit Union Service Centers enjoy the opportunity to give back to our communities during the holiday season through various charitable donations and dedicating time to volunteer efforts. Our commitment to our members and the community extends beyond providing exceptional financial services; it includes actively participating in initiatives that spread cheer and support those in need. Here’s a closer look at some of our holiday community involvement efforts.
Food Pantry Efforts
As part of our holiday community outreach, CES Credit Union participates in and facilitates food drives to support local food banks across the communities we serve. Throughout November and December, each Service Center collected stuffing donations from our members and employees to be donated to local food pantries. Through this effort we collected more than 300 boxes of stuffing to help feed our communities. In addition, during the month of December, we donated 48 turkeys to Interchurch Social Services of Knox County to be distributed to families in the Howard, Apple Valley and Danville communities.
Volunteer Work
Each year our Mount Vernon Service Centers team together, led by Chestnut Street Service Center Branch Manager Colleen Kelly, to volunteer to ring the bells at the Kroger in Mount Vernon on behalf of the Salvation Army. This is an opportunity our employees love to participate in each year and goes to support an organization that we love to work with in the Salvation Army.
Donations
In addition to our more “boots on the ground” efforts, CES Credit Union allows each of our Service Center Managers to select a local charity of which they would like to offer a monetary donation each holiday season. So far this holiday season, we have provided monetary donations to the Coshocton County Firefighter’s Toy Chest, Habitat for Humanity in Knox County, Food for the Hungry of Knox County, Sons of the American Legion 92 in Utica, and Bikes for Kids in Loudonville. Additionally, we worked with Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon to collect coats for the annual Coats for Kids initiative and worked with Wayne Grange #262 to collect diapers for the Bottoms Up Diaper Bank program.
The holiday season is a time of joy, reflection, and giving, and CES Credit Union is dedicated to making a meaningful difference within our community. Our various initiatives demonstrate our commitment to supporting those in need during this special time of year. Together, we can all spread holiday cheer and create a lasting impact. We invite our members and the community to join us as we celebrate the spirit of giving and look forward to a bright and hopeful new year!
