Seminar for Elder Fraud and Financial Exploitation coming to Mount Vernon October 21st

MOUNT VERNON -- The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. and CES Credit Union will be hosting an Elder Fraud and Financial Exploitation Seminar on Friday, Oct. 21st at 9:00 a.m. at The Station Break located at 160 Howard Street in Mount Vernon.

This seminar is for the community and will help encourage awareness of many of the scams and plots of financial exploitation directed toward elders and offer prevention tactics. The training and information will be useful for various financial institutions, financial advisors, accountants, guardians, law enforcement, caretakers, social workers, and all who would like to learn about growing concerns regarding financial exploitation.

The presentation will be led by Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging Community Living Manager, Richard Meeker, MSW, LISW-S, and will include representatives from Adult Protective Services, the Attorney General’s Office, and local law enforcement.
